How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Clerk of Works - Hampshire (Winchester Based)
Be the trusted eyes on site. Shape quality from the ground up.

Are you an experienced Clerk of Works with a passion for quality, compliance, and delivering exceptional housing projects?

I'm working on behalf of a highly respected construction consultancy client with an outstanding reputation for delivering quality across the built environment. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of residential and regeneration schemes, they are looking to appoint a talented Clerk of Works to join their established Hampshire team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a consultancy that genuinely values technical expertise, professional development, and the role quality assurance plays in successful project delivery. You'll work on a diverse portfolio of residential developments including affordable housing, private rental schemes, and regeneration projects, partnering with Housing Associations, Local Authorities, and private sector clients.

    The Opportunity

As Clerk of Works, you'll play a critical role in ensuring construction quality, compliance, and workmanship standards across multiple live projects. Acting as a key link between contractors and clients, you'll help safeguard delivery excellence from site commencement through to completion and handover.

    Key Responsibilities

Conduct regular site inspections across new build and regeneration housing schemes
Monitor build quality, workmanship, and specification compliance
Produce detailed site reports highlighting progress, defects, and observations
Review drawings and raise technical or design concerns
Ensure works align with Building Regulations, NHBC standards, and industry best practice
Monitor site safety, materials, programme, and contractor performance
Support project teams with snagging, de-snagging, handovers, and defects management
Attend site meetings and provide technical guidance to support successful delivery
What My Client Is Looking For

Proven Clerk of Works / Quality Inspection experience within residential or housing construction
Strong understanding of construction methods, building pathology, and compliance standards
Knowledge of NHBC, Building Control, fire safety, and quality assurance processes
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to challenge and advise where needed
Tech-savvy with the ability to produce accurate digital reports
    CSCS Card essential
Organised, proactive, and committed to maintaining exceptional standards
    Why This Role Stands Out

Join a people-focused consultancy with a strong reputation for excellence
Work on meaningful residential projects that positively impact communities
Be part of a highly experienced and collaborative team
Clear opportunities for progression and continued professional development
    Competitive salary and benefits package
Long-term career stability with a growing consultancy
If you're looking for a role where your technical expertise will be genuinely valued and where you can contribute to delivering high-quality projects that make a difference, this could be an outstanding next move.
