How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Music Teacher

    Head of Music available for an experienced Music Teacher

    A Music Teacher is needed in a Mixed Secondary School & Sixth Form in East London.

    This Music Teacher position will be full time and permanent.

    Teaching for this Music Teacher post will be for KS3 to KS5 classes.

    The salary for this Music Teacher role will be between £40317 and £62496, depending on the experiences and qualifications of each applicant.

    The School

    A Coeducational Secondary Free School & Sixth Form, located between the London Boroughs of Newham and Tower Hamlets.

    A heavy focus is placed on Grammar at the school.

    Students are entered in to GCSE and EPQ qualifications.

    From Year 7 to Year 11, all pupils learn the 3 Core Sciences, English, Maths, Ethics and Sports.

    At 6th Form level, all pupils must take up a Maths and Science course. They must then choose two more subjects from Philosophy, Economics, Humanities, Latin, English Literature or Art. The reason for this is because the school wants to produce future scientists, medics and engineers.

    Currently the school is split across two different sites, with one acting as the main site for lower school and the other acting as the upper school site.

    Requirements

    You're welcome to apply if you're a recently qualified Music Teacher or an experienced Music Teacher.

    Applications are also encouraged if you are a British trained Music Teacher or overseas trained Music Teacher.

    All applicants must have the following as a must in order to be considered for this position as a Music Teacher:

    UK QTS or equivalent
    Right to work in the UK
    Clear and up to date Enhanced DBS
    Experience as a Music Teacher in UK schools
