How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Town Planner - Liverpool

    Are you a talented Town Planner looking to take the next step in your career with a globally recognised multidisciplinary consultancy? We are working with a leading employee-owned consultancy that is continuing to grow its planning team in Liverpool and is seeking an ambitious planner to join their collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

    This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of high-profile projects across infrastructure, regeneration, residential, commercial, energy and mixed-use developments throughout the UK.

    The Role

    You will play a key role in delivering planning advice and managing projects from inception through to completion, working alongside experts across planning, design, engineering and environmental disciplines.

    Responsibilities will include:

    Preparing and managing planning applications and appeals
    Providing strategic planning advice to clients
    Supporting project delivery across a wide range of sectors
    Engaging with local authorities, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
    Assisting with business development and client relationship management
    Contributing to planning appraisals, policy reviews and development strategies

    About You

    We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

    A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
    MRTPI qualification or working towards chartership
    Previous consultancy or local authority experience
    Strong knowledge of the UK planning system
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
