How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Steel Market Research Analyst to join a well-established and respected organisation specialising in global steel market analysis, pricing and forecasting.

    This position would suit someone currently working within the steel industry or with previous experience across steel sales, purchasing, trading, procurement, market analysis or a related commercial role.

    The successful candidate will play a key role in gathering, analysing and communicating market intelligence while building strong relationships across the steel sector.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Develop and maintain relationships with industry contacts and research partners

    * Monitor global steel market trends, pricing movements and industry developments

    * Collect, verify and analyse market data with a high level of accuracy

    * Produce written market commentary, reports and industry updates

    * Collaborate with internal teams to support market analysis and data integrity

    * Manage and maintain databases and market information systems

    * Respond to client enquiries and provide informed market insight

    * Attend industry conferences, seminars and networking events

    * Ensure confidentiality and integrity of sensitive market information

    About You

    * Previous experience within the steel industry is essential

    * Strong understanding of steel pricing structures and market dynamics

    * Experience across stainless steel and/or carbon steel markets highly desirable

    * Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability

    * Strong communication and relationship-building skills

    * Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team

    * Proactive approach with strong organisational and problem-solving skills

    * Additional language skills would be advantageous but are not essential
