How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The business is looking for a reliable CNC Turner who can work confidently from engineering drawings, maintain quality standards, and support day-to-day production output. Operators with setting experience looking to progress further are also encouraged to apply.

Role Overview As a CNC Turner, your responsibilities will include:

Setting CNC turning machines ready for production runs
Operating machines to produce components to specification
Making basic edits and adjustments at the machine where required
Checking components to ensure accuracy and quality
    Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Keeping work areas organised and running smoothly
Supporting efficient day-to-day production within the machine shopThis is a production-focused machining role suited to someone who enjoys practical engineering work and a steady workflow.

    What They’re Looking For

Experience setting and operating CNC lathes
    Experience using Mazak controls
Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tolerances
Understanding of machining and inspection processes
    A reliable and hands-on approach
Good attention to detailThe following would also be beneficial, although not essential:

    Multi-axis machining experience
    Mill/turn experience
Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environmentThis role could suit an experienced CNC Turner or a CNC Operator with setting experience looking to step into a broader role.
    What’s on Offer
    £17 to £20 per hour
    Day shift, Monday to Friday
    Totton location
    Stable, ongoing work
Established engineering environmentIf you’re a CNC Turner looking for a straightforward role where you can focus on machining and production, this opportunity is worth a look.
