How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Mechanical Maintenance Technician
    Stowmarket Up to £45,000 + Overtime

    A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a growing manufacturing business in Stowmarket. This role offers the chance to become part of a newly developing maintenance team, supporting the installation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of site machinery and equipment.

    The successful candidate will have strong mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment and enjoy working in a fast-paced, hands-on setting.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and fault finding on plant machinery and equipment
    • Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency
    • Complete planned preventative maintenance and routine inspections
    • Assist with machinery installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement projects
    • Work from technical drawings and engineering documentation
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records and report findings effectively
    • Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety procedures

    Skills & Experience Required:
    • Previous experience in a mechanical maintenance role within manufacturing or industrial environments
    • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, bearings, conveyors, and rotating equipment
    • Confident using workshop tools and machinery
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
    • Mechanical engineering qualifications are advantageous
    • Proactive approach with strong teamwork skills

    What’s on Offer:
    • Salary up to £45,000 depending on experience
    • Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30
    • Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate
