How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a high-growth and innovation-led manufacturing business based in Poole, who have recently invested over £1 million into new infrastructure and technology.

    They are now looking to appoint a skilled and motivated Electrical Technician to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Technician to work in a modern, forward-thinking environment where quality, precision, and continuous improvement are at the forefront.

    As an Electrical Technician, you will play a key role in the build, wiring, and testing of complex machinery. This Electrical Technician position will see you working closely with mechanical, test, and quality teams to ensure right-first-time builds and high-performance standards across all products.

    In this Electrical Technician role, your responsibilities will include:

    Assembling and wiring electrical systems from detailed electrical drawings and circuit diagrams
    Installing and integrating electrical panels into complex machinery
    Carrying out electrical testing and safety checks, ensuring all work meets required standards
    Maintaining accurate build and test records
    Supporting continuous improvement activities by identifying issues and suggesting solutions
    Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth production processesTo be successful in this Electrical Technician position, you will need:

    A time-served apprenticeship or equivalent experience in electrical assembly
    At least 2 years’ hands-on experience with panel board population and electro-mechanical wiring
    Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
    Experience in functional testing and fault-finding
    Good understanding of safe isolation and working across a range of voltage systems
    High attention to detail with a methodical and organised approach
    A flexible attitude and strong team-working mindsetDesirable experience for this Electrical Technician role includes:
