How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teacher (SEMH) - Special School

    Location: Chelmsford, Essex
    Salary: Competitive (MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance, dependent on experience)
    Job Type: Full-time / Permanent (flexible options available)

    About the Role

    We are seeking an enthusiastic, resilient, and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Chelmsford. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional support to access education and achieve their full potential.

    You will be responsible for delivering engaging and tailored lessons to pupils who may display challenging behaviours, working within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team.

    Key Responsibilities

    · Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs
    · Create a nurturing and structured classroom environment that supports emotional regulation and positive behaviour
    · Implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
    · Build strong, positive relationships with students to support engagement and progress
    · Work collaboratively with support staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals
    · Monitor, record, and report on student progress and wellbeing
    · Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

    Requirements

    · Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
    · Experience teaching pupils with SEN, ideally within an SEMH setting
    · Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience
    · A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach
    · Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse needs
    · Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
