How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

At Mark Allen, we create specialist content, events, data and insight for professional communities across sectors that matter.

As Senior Sales Executive, you will play a key role in driving commercial growth across MA Healthcare’s wound care portfolio, working across a powerful mix of print, digital, events and medical education.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an ambitious sales professional ready to take the next step in their media sales career. You will join one of MA Healthcare’s core therapy areas, helping to grow a respected portfolio that supports clinicians and improves patient care.

The portfolio includes the Journal of Wound Care, the British Journal of Community Nursing, including BJCN’s quarterly Community Wound Care supplement, BJN’s quarterly Tissue Viability supplement, and our Wound Care Handbook platform. It also includes established UK and US events, with clear plans for further growth.

This role would suit someone energetic, commercially curious and ready for more ownership. You may already have some sales experience and now want a role where you can develop your confidence, manage a varied portfolio and see the impact of your work across a fast-paced, specialist healthcare media market.

    What you’ll be doing

    You will:

    *

Work closely with the associate publisher on sales strategy, budgeting and growth opportunities.

    *

Build strong relationships with wound care organisations and associations to increase visibility.

    *

Collaborate with editorial, production and marketing teams to deliver campaigns on time.

    *

Contribute ideas for new products and services to support portfolio development.

    *

Plan and prioritise your work to meet targets and deadlines, with flexibility to travel across the UK.

    Must-haves:

    *

Experience in selling solutions to your customers enjoying the challenge of delivering against targets.

    *

Strong communication skills, able to build rapport and credibility with clients and stakeholders.

    *

Excellent organisation and time management, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

    *

Commercial awareness, with a proactive and tenacious approach to winning and growing business.

    *

Confidence working cross-functionally with editorial, marketing and production teams.

    Nice-to-haves:

    *

Account management experience, with a focus on growing existing relationships.

    *

Exposure to international clients or markets.

    *

An interest in medical education or the healthcare sector.

If you do not meet every requirement but bring transferable skills, sound judgement and fresh thinking, we encourage you to apply.
