How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Sociology Teacher (Full-Time)
    Start Date: September 2026

    We are seeking to appoint an inspiring and dedicated Sociology Teacher to join our thriving and ambitious team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to contribute to a dynamic academy committed to excellence and high achievement for all students.

    About the Role
    You will be responsible for delivering high-quality Sociology lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5, fostering a stimulating learning environment where students are encouraged to think critically about society and their place within it. You will play a key role in shaping an engaging curriculum, supporting student progress, and contributing to the wider life of the academy.

    Key Responsibilities

    Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Sociology lessons
    Monitor, assess, and report on student progress in line with academy policies
    Support students in achieving excellent outcomes at GCSE and A-Level
    Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities
    Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement
    Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Humanities department
    About You

    A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a degree in Sociology or a related subject
    A strong subject knowledge and passion for Sociology
    Proven ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
    Commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment
    Strong organisational and communication skills
    A willingness to contribute to the wider school community
