We are currently looking for a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision setting supporting pupils across both Primary and Secondary age ranges.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional needs, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and behavioural challenges within a nurturing and supportive environment that strongly focuses on mental health, wellbeing, and emotional development.
The Role:
* Support pupils across Primary and Secondary classes on both a 1:1 and small group basis
* Help pupils engage with learning, regulate emotions, and build confidence within the classroom
* Support students with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, and additional learning needs
* Work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to provide consistent support
* Assist with personal care where required
* Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and independence
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support both academic and personal development
* Help create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking For:
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs
* A calm, patient, and resilient approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Comfortable supporting pupils with personal care needs
* Ability to build positive relationships and remain consistent in challenging situations
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
