Vehicle Technician

Our client, a well-established independent family-run garage in Royston, is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join their busy workshop. This is an excellent opportunity for automotive professionals looking to advance their careers within a reputable and supportive environment. The successful individual will be integral to delivering high-quality service, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving the workshop’s success.

Key benefits:

Competitive salary up to £40,000 per annum
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:30 pm, with Saturday rota hours

Consideration for both qualified and time-served technicians
20 days holiday plus bank holidays, plus Christmas closure (no holiday allowance deducted)
Variety of servicing and repair work including brakes, tyres, and diagnostics

Conduct servicing, repairs, and diagnostics efficiently and accurately
Undertake vehicle road tests to confirm repairs and performance
Follow company guidelines to maintain high standards of workmanship
Ensure the professional image of the workshop is upheld at all times
Assist with general workshop duties as required as a Vehicle Technician
Maintain excellent communication with customers and internal teamsRequirements of a Vehicle Technician:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar automotive role
Proven record of delivering excellent customer service
Strong understanding of automotive servicing and repairs
Valid driving licence is essential
MOT testing competence is desirable but not compulsory
Ability to manage time effectively and work efficiently under pressure
