How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    They are now looking for a driven and commercially minded Business Development Representative to become a key part of their growing sales team. Sitting at the forefront of the commercial sales process, you’ll play a vital role in uncovering new business opportunities, building relationships with decision-makers, and creating a strong pipeline for the senior sales team.

    This is far more than a typical call-centre role. It’s an opportunity to develop real B2B sales expertise, have meaningful commercial conversations, and make a direct impact in one of the UK’s fastest-growing sectors.

    In this role, you’ll identify and engage target organisations, confidently introduce the value of energy consultation and analysis, and progress qualified opportunities through to a Letter of Authorisation (LoA) before handing them over to senior colleagues.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Researching and identifying target organisations

    * Engaging business decision-makers through professional outbound activity

    * Conducting structured, early-stage discovery conversations

    * Clearly explaining the value of energy analysis and consultation

    * Asking for and securing Letters of Authorisation (LoAs)

    * Qualifying and handing over high-quality opportunities to senior sales colleagues

    * Working closely with Business Development Managers to support pipeline growth

    Skills & Experience

    We’re looking for someone with the right mindset, professionalism, and commercial judgement.

    You may be a good fit if you:

    * Have experience in lead generation, SDR, BDR, telesales, or outbound sales

    * Are confident speaking with business decision-makers

    * Can ask directly for commitment and next steps

    * Communicate clearly and professionally

    * Are commercially curious and well-prepared

    * Are resilient, motivated, and open to feedback

    Experience within the energy or utilities sector is a bonus, but not essential.
