How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Join our client’s reputable family-run commercial workshop in Crawley as an HGV Technician and take the next step in your motor trade career. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced HGV technicians to work within a supportive environment that values skill, dedication, and professional growth.

    The duties include:
    * Conducting inspections, repairs, and defect diagnostics on HGVs, trailers, PSV, and vans
    * Performing minor bodywork repairs such as panel replacements and windscreen repairs
    * Assisting with breakdowns primarily for fleet customers, with no motorway roadside repairs involved
    * Using state-of-the-art diagnostics equipment within a well-equipped workshop
    * Ensuring all work complies with safety and quality standards
    * Managing workload efficiently to meet repair and inspection deadlines
    Requirements for a HGV Technician:
    * Proven experience as a HGV Technician or Mobile HGV Technician
    * Relevant qualifications and licences, ideally a Class 1 licence or willingness to obtain one
    * Strong diagnostic and repair skills on modern commercial vehicles
    * Ability to work flexibly within a team in a fast-paced environment
    * Professional attitude focused on delivering quality service and customer satisfaction
    * Willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development
