How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

    Location: Pickering area
    Hours: Monday to Thursday, 07:00am - 5:30pm
    Contract: 40 hours per week
    Salary: £19.70 per hour/ £41,000

    We are recruiting for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing business in the Pickering area, supporting the reliability and performance of plant and equipment across site. This is a hands-on role focused on reactive breakdown response, planned preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities
    Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across site equipment
    Diagnose faults and complete mechanical and basic electrical repairs
    Support plant rebuilds, installations and equipment upgrades
    Welding and fabrication work as required
    Manufacture or modify replacement parts using workshop machinery
    Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and documented through the CMMS system
    Work collaboratively with production and wider site teams to minimise downtimeWhat We Are Looking For
    Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment
    Strong mechanical maintenance skills with some electrical competency
    Welding and fabrication experience
    Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability
    Comfortable using maintenance systems and completing maintenance records
    Flexible approach with willingness to support overtime when requiredDesirable Skills
    NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or similar
    Lathe and milling experience
    18th Edition electrical qualification
    Experience with CAD or SolidWorks
