Principal Building Control Surveyor

We are recruiting an Interim Principal Building Control Surveyor for a leading Social Housing provider based in Essex, on a 3-month contract.

As an Interim Principal Building Control Surveyor, you will be responsible for support of the delivery of our Building Control team through undertaking assessing a range of Building Control applications suitable to your accreditation.

What’s on offer:

Rate: £70-75 per hour (inside of IR35 and through umbrella)
Contract: 3-month interim assignment (potential for extension)
Working pattern: Full-time (37–40 hours per week)

This role will require you to work out of the office 1 day a week and travel around the area 2 days a week

Key responsibilities include:

Carry out site inspections and plan checking (min 2 days on site per week)
Attend to dangerous structures
Carry out enforcement of The Building Regulations and Building Act as necessary
Supervise senior, junior surveyors and admin staff
Deputise for the Building Control Manager when required
Assist the Building Control Manager in the implementation of the BSR operational Standards
Assist the Building Control Manager in procedural changes to the service
Plan checking The successful Interim Principal Building Control Surveyor will have:

Professional qualifications by one the chartered institutes with a specialism in Building Control
Minimum Class 2F Registration and Chartered with CIOB/ RICS/ CABE
Experience within a similar post
Social housing experience
