Estimator / Junior Estimator

Our client is a well-established and growing roofing and cladding contractor, delivering high-quality projects across the commercial and industrial sectors throughout the UK.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to recruit an Estimator to join their expanding team.

Junior Estimators or candidates looking to develop a long-term career within the construction industry will also be considered.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful business with a strong reputation within the roofing and cladding industry. The role will suit either an experienced Estimator or an ambitious individual looking to progress within a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and tender submissions
Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
Carrying out take-offs and measurements from drawings
Obtaining and analysing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
Assisting in the preparation of project budgets and cost plans
Liaising with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments
Supporting the commercial and project teams throughout the tender process
Ensuring submissions are completed accurately and within deadlines
Identifying value engineering opportunities where appropriate

Requirements

Previous estimating experience within roofing, cladding, construction, or a related industry would be advantageous
Junior candidates with construction knowledge and a willingness to learn will also be considered
Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
Excellent attention to detail
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office packages
Knowledge of estimating software would be beneficial but not essential
