How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Crosby Composites are a leading carbon fibre manufacturer working predominately in high end, luxury automotive and formula 1.     We have opportunities for an experienced CNC Machinist to join our company at our Brackley site. We work to the highest standards and our Laminating team are a critical part of managing this and supporting the production areas. 
     
    This is a twilight shift, working Monday to Thursday. Core hours are 4:30pm to 2:00am.  We offer competitive rates of pay, company pension, 19 days holiday plus the bank holidays, private healthcare and the opportunity for overtime during peak periods. 
     
    The Role:
    Reporting to the CNC Manager and working in a small team, you will be required to set up and run 5axis CNC machines. Working from set up sheets generated from Powermill and downloading the relevant programmes. 
     
    Machine details: 2 CMS ARES and 1 CMS Antares.
     
     In this role, we require an individual who can: 

    Machining of patterns, moulds and component trimming for carbon fibre components. 
    A variety of parts and materials machined.
    Experience in using CMS Fanuc controls would be good but not essential. 
    You will need to have experience in working to a high level of accuracy and tight deadlines with minimum supervision. 
    It would be an advantage to have a recognised apprenticeship and have gained a BTEC qualification (or equivalent).
