How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    I am recruiting alongside a high‑performing secondary school in Bristol for an enthusiastic and skilled Food Technology Teacher to join a well‑established and successful Design & Technology department. This is an excellent opportunity to teach Food Technology in a school with high academic standards, strong values and a clear commitment to student wellbeing and achievement.

    Food Technology plays an important role within the curriculum, supporting students to:

    ✅ The Role:

    As a Food Technology Teacher, you will:

    Deliver engaging and high‑quality Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
    Teach both practical and theoretical content, including nutrition and food science
    Plan structured and purposeful lessons that challenge and support all learners
    Promote excellent standards of hygiene, safety and organisation in practical environments
    Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
    Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND
    Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities
    Work collaboratively within the wider DT department and school community

    ✅ Who This Role Suits:

    Qualified Food Technology teachers (QTS or equivalent)
    ECTs seeking strong support within a high‑performing school
    Experienced teachers looking for a stable, values‑led environment
    Educators passionate about food education, health and practical learning

    ✅ Experience & Requirements:

    QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
    Strong subject knowledge in Food Technology / Food Preparation & Nutrition
    Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and KS4 (including during training)
    Strong classroom and practical lesson management skills
    Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and high expectations
    Enhanced Child‑Only DBS (or willingness to apply)
