How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are working with a well-established and growing equipment hire business looking to recruit an experienced Small Tools Fitter to join their friendly Bristol team.     Salary between £30,000 and £35,000 basic
    Bonus paid twice per year
    Monday to Friday working hours only

    About the Role:

    As a Small Tools Fitter, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of small tools and plant equipment.

    Typical equipment will include:

    Generators
    Power tools
    Whacker plates
    Small plant machinery
    Duties of the Small Tools Fitter will include:

    Carrying out planned maintenance and breakdown repairs
    Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently
    Preparing equipment for hire
    Ensuring equipment meets health and safety standards
    Keeping accurate service records
    Supporting the workshop team when required
    This Small Tools Fitter role would suit someone with previous experience working within the plant hire, tool hire, construction, or powered access industries.

    To be successful in the Small Tools Fitter role, you may have:

    Experience repairing small tools or plant machinery
    Good mechanical fault-finding skills
    Experience working on generators, power tools, or compaction equipment
    A positive and reliable attitude
    The ability to work independently and as part of a team
