How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Empowering Learning is working with a special needs school in Long Eaton, who are recruiting for a teaching assistant to work with their dedicated and supportive team. The role is to start as soon as possible.

    You will be involved in classroom duties and off-site recreational activities.

    Duties
    - Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational programs and activities for students.
    - Provide support to students with special needs, including those with autism.
    - Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
    - Help students with daily tasks, such as personal care and hygiene.
    - Support students in their academic and social development.
    - Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement education health care plans for students.
    - Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
    - Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies.

    Skills
    - Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs and challenging behaviours.
    - Knowledge of special education practices and strategies.
    - Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
    - Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
    - Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children.
    - Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviours.
    - Knowledge of toddler care and development is a plus.

    This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to supporting the educational needs of students.

    The teaching assistant will work closely with the lead teacher to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

    Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, is essential.

    Strong communication skills are also important for effectively collaborating with students, parents, and colleagues.
