The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced, meticulous, and proactive Road Freight Operator to manage end-to-end freight forwarding operations. This isn't just about moving goods; it's about owning the entire process, ensuring seamless service from collection to delivery, with full responsibility for crucial customs compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of road freight movements across the UK and Europe (Groupage, Part Load, Full Load).
Handle all associated documentation, ensuring absolute accuracy.
Execute end-to-end customs procedures, including import and export declarations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Liaise extensively with customers, hauliers, overseas agents, and internal departments.
Negotiate rates and procure services from transport providers to maximise profitability and service quality.
Proactively monitor shipments, troubleshoot potential issues, and provide timely updates to clients. What You Bring:
Proven experience as a Road Freight Operator or similar role within a freight forwarding environment.
Essential hands-on experience and strong knowledge of customs procedures (HMRC declarations, CDS).
Excellent organisational and multitasking skills with a keen eye for detail.
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation abilities.
