How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary of the Plant Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Plant Fitter / Heavy Equipment Engineer / Plant Engineer / Diesel Mechanic / HGV Technician / Heavy Vehicle Technician / Mechanic / Fitter / Technician: Salary is Negotiable and depending on experience anything from £40,000 UPWARDS !!

    Hours of work for the Plant Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Plant Fitter / Heavy Equipment Engineer / Plant Engineer / Diesel Mechanic / HGV Technician / Heavy Vehicle Technician / Mechanic / Fitter / Technician: Monday - Friday. Core hours 8:00am - 4:30 are core hours, however it is expected the employe start at 6am (first two hours will be overtime).

    Job Spec for the Plant Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Plant Fitter / Heavy Equipment Engineer / Plant Engineer / Diesel Mechanic / HGV Technician / Heavy Vehicle Technician / Mechanic / Fitter / Technician:

    * To administer and record, with particular emphasis on the accurate recording of all appropriate data, relating to all work undertaken on an item-by-item basis.

    * To maintain suitable stock levels of all routine consumable items.

    * To prepare, as required, Company vehicle’s (passenger, LGV, and HGV) ready for Ministry of Transport testing.

    * To attend any site(s) of the Company, as required, to diagnose and repair (where possible) any broken-down or defective item of construction plant/vehicle.

    * To comply always with the Health and Safety documentation presented (including COSHH) and to undertake all daily tasks in strict compliance with Safe Working Procedures (SWPs’) and Risk Assessments (RA’s).

    * To undertake any other task(s) as reasonably requested by senior management.

    Plant equipment includes, but not limited to:

    Overhead gantry crane(s)
    On site Combilifts and Side loaders.
    Telehandlers.
    Genie and Manitou access platforms/scissor lifts.
    Liebherr Mobile Crane(s).
    HGV Tractor Unit(s).
    HGV Articulated Trailer(s) – including ‘trombone’ and ‘rear-steer’ units.
    LGV’s and Panel Vans.
    Passenger vehicles and Pick-up Trucks.

    All tools, equipment and PPE is supplied by the employer.

    Norfolk area. Site visits will be required on occasion - East Anglia mostly.
