How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Lead Mechanical Engineer - Water

    Warrington| Permanent

    Salary up to £75,000 per annum + Company Car/Allowance

    This is an opportunity to work for one of the UK's Leading Contractors on Multi Million Pound Water projects across the North West Region!

    This is a long-term, stable opportunity within a business known for high-quality delivery, strong safety culture, and promoting from within.

    The Role

    As the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will responsible for Mechanical package Delivery and Technical Governance, along with the management of the mechanical package delivery strategy for the framework.
    You will manage site surveys of existing mechanical equipment
    Handover to project MEICA delivery engineering team
    Implementation of standard procurement specific requirements in relation to manufacture, off site testing, delivery and installation are incorporated within mechanical packages
    Ensuring that delivery teams are implementing deployed frameworks. 
    Collaboration within the wider functions of the business – design / estimating / civils / commercial to support overall effective delivery and continuous improvement. 
    Key Responsibilities

    Input to design solution at survey and concept stages
    Production of mechanical enquiry packages based on design documentation
    Organisation of decommissioning / relocation of existing mechanical equipment
    Definition of standard products and technical solutions for deployment across the programme
    Definition of standard procurement specific requirements in relation to manufacture, off site testing, delivery and installation are incorporated within mechanical packages
    Guiding design teams towards standardisation of solutions across the programme
    Managing key suppliers and subcontractors to ensure production / delivery timescales
    Liaison with the clients mechanical lead
    Review and sign-off of mechanical elements of condition survey report.
    On and offsite inspection and testing, including documentation, procedures and critical function witness testing i.e., FAT & SAT, string tests etc.
    What We’re Looking For

    Proven experience in Water civil engineering projects

    Strong background in Mechanical Engineering
