How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Production Engineer - Electronics

    Chelmsford, Essex
    Salary Negotiable depending on experience

    A leading global engineering company is looking to recruit a Production Engineer - Electronics to support manufacturing operations across high-profile Aerospace, Defence, Space, Medical and Industrial projects. This role would suit an experienced Production Engineer, Electronics Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in electronics manufacturing and component-level fault finding. Due to the nature of the business canidates must be British Citizens.

    Duties

    Carry out component-level fault finding and diagnostics
    Support manufacturing and supply teams with technical issues and corrective actions
    Investigate and resolve recurring production faults
    Create and update SOPs, manufacturing documentation and standard times
    Support balanced production lines and process improvements
    Complete FMEA, control plans and risk assessments
    Ensure designs meet DFM/DFA requirements
    Support NPI activities and engineering change processes
    Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives

    Skills & Experience

    Degree qualified in Electronics, Manufacturing or Engineering
    Experience within electronics manufacturing and test engineering
    Strong fault-finding and root cause analysis skills
    Knowledge of electrical/mechanical assembly and manufacturing processes
    Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 8D or A3 methodologies
    Familiar with ERP/SAP systems and manufacturing documentation
    Knowledge of RF testing, high voltage electronics or encapsulation beneficial
    Strong communication and problem-solving skills
    Must be British passport holders
