How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

At Taylor Rose, we believe in Smart, Modern Law—an approach that combines innovative thinking with a deeply human touch. We are currently looking for an experienced and empathetic Senior Private Client Solicitor to join our growing team. This is a pivotal role for a practitioner who excels at navigating the complexities of estate planning, trusts, and probate while delivering the clear, jargon-free advice our clients expect. As a Top 60 firm, we offer the prestige and resources of a national powerhouse, but we maintain an entrepreneurial spirit that empowers our senior lawyers to truly own their caseload and shape the department's success.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    * Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with at least 5 years' PQE in private client work.

    * Strong technical knowledge of wills, LPAs, probate, trusts and inheritance tax planning.

    * Experience advising on complex matters, including HNW estates and multi-generational planning.

    * STEP qualification or working towards STEP is desirable.

    * Proficiency in case management systems

    * Strong drafting, communication and organisational skills.

    * Proven experience of supervising and managing others.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Managing a varied caseload of private client matters including wills, LPAs, probate, estate administration, trust advice and administration, and Court of Protection matters, with experience in estate planning preferred.

    * Advising a broad client base including HNW individuals, families, elderly and vulnerable clients on complex matters, demonstrating empathy, sensitivity and a high standard of client care throughout.

    * Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, referrers and third parties including HMRC, the Probate Registry, financial institutions, accountants and other professional advisers.

    * Managing own caseload with a high degree of autonomy, whilst working collaboratively within the wider team.

    * Supervising and supporting junior fee earners, trainees, paralegals and support staff, nurturing talent and fostering professional development.

    * Meeting KPIs and managing billing, WIP and financial performance of matters, with the ability to promote commercial awareness in others.

    Skills and Competencies

    * Excellent client relationship management skills, with the ability to advise elderly and vulnerable clients with empathy and sensitivity.

    * Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

    * Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise workloads effectively and autonomously.

    * Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a close-knit team.

    * Commercial awareness and a proactive interest in business development.

    * A collaborative, supportive working style with a commitment to nurturing junior talent.

    What We Offer

    * Clear career progression opportunities, including the potential to develop specialist expertise and take on wider management responsibilities.

    * Support for professional development including STEP qualification and CPD.

    * A flexible and supportive working environment
