How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are recruiting a Development Manager for a leading Social Housing Provider based in Peterborough, delivering high-quality affordable housing across the region!

    As a Development Manager, you will lead on the delivery of new build housing schemes from inception through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.     Key responsibilities include:
    Leading the delivery of residential development projects from feasibility through to handover
    Managing project budgets, programmes, and risk to ensure successful outcomes
    Procuring and managing contractors, consultants, and development partners
    Overseeing planning applications and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
    Monitoring construction progress and ensuring quality standards are met
    Collaborating with internal teams including asset management, finance, and housing
    Ensuring developments align with sustainability and energy efficiency targets
    Preparing reports and updates for senior stakeholders
    Managing stakeholder relationships including local authorities and partners
    Ensuring Health & Safety compliance across all development activities
    The successful Development Manager will have:

    Proven experience delivering residential development projects within social housing or a similar sector
    Strong knowledge of the development lifecycle including planning and construction
    Experience managing budgets, contracts, and project timelines
    Knowledge of UK planning regulations and building standards
    Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
    Experience managing external contractors and consultants
    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
    Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
    Relevant qualification in construction, real estate, or project management (or equivalent experience)
    Full UK driving licence and access to a suitably insured vehiclePlease note: An Enhanced DBS check will be carried out for the successful Development Manager
