How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Nursery Room Leader - Baby Room - Barnet (N12)
    Term Time Only, Full-Time
    Start Date: Immediate Start

    Hours: 8:30am - 4pm, Monday to Friday

    We are seeking a confident and experienced Nursery Room Leader to join a school adjacent Nursery in Barnet (N12) or an experienced nursery practitioner ready to step up and take charge of a team of 2 in a busy baby room.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Early Years professional ready to take the next step in their career and lead a room, supporting both children and staff in a nurturing, child-centred environment.

    Key Requirements for this Nursery Room Leader role:

    CACHE Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Early Years/Childcare (essential)
    Proven experience working within a nursery or early years setting
    Previous experience leading a room or supporting room leadership (desirable)

    About this Nursery Room Leader Role:

    As a Nursery Room Leader, you will be responsible for:

    Leading the day-to-day running of the room, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and well-organised environment
    Supporting and guiding a small team of practitioners, promoting positive teamwork and consistency
    Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework
    Monitoring children's progress through observations, assessments, and learning journeys
    Acting as a key person, building strong and professional relationships with children and their families
    Ensuring safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare requirements are consistently met
    Maintaining high standards of care, learning, and behaviour management across the room

    What We're Looking For in a Nursery Room Leader:

    Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development
    Confident leadership skills with the ability to support and motivate a team
    Experience with planning, assessment, and tracking children's progress
    A proactive, organised, and reliable approach
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    A genuine passion for early years education and child development
