How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client are a leading manufacturing business and we're supporting them to recruit a Buyer to join their team.

    Reporting to the Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing related activity ensuring that material (direct and indirect) is available when needed and supply is optimised in-line with company strategies.

    Key duties:

    • Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, lead-times and payment terms

    • Generate and issue purchase orders and obtain order acknowledgements

    • Manage deliveries and inventory (expediting and rescheduling) and keep the MRP system updated with
    current delivery dates

    • Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding the status of indirect purchase orders

    • Input and maintain master data within the MRP system

    • Manage and implement design changes with minimal business impact

    • Supplier KPI reporting

    • Resolve invoice and/or delivery queries

    • Support new product development and introduction

    • Identify and manage supply chain risk

    • Support cost reduction initiatives and reporting of cost savings and avoidance

    Required Experience:

    • Purchasing professional with at least 2 years’ experience in a supply chain setting

    • Experience of working in the technology sector and a complex manufacturing environment.

    • Good knowledge of MRP/ERP systems

    • Strong commercial / financial acumen

    • IT literate, strong knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams

    Qualifications:

    • Degree qualified in either a technical or business discipline would be an advantage
