This is a senior position offering the chance to influence project performance from pre-construction through to delivery, working across a range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will have a proven background in planning within civil engineering or infrastructure, with experience operating at Senior Planner or Planning Manager level.
As Lead Planner, you will:
* Lead the development and management of detailed project programmes across multiple civil engineering schemes
* Provide strategic planning input during tender and pre-construction stages
* Monitor project progress, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies to maintain programme targets
* Work closely with project delivery teams to ensure alignment between planning, design, and construction activities
* Analyse programme performance and produce regular reports for senior stakeholders
* Drive improvements in planning processes, tools, and standards across projects
* Support and mentor junior planners, contributing to the development of the wider planning function
* Ensure programmes are compliant with contractual and project requirements
Our client requires a Lead Planner with:
* Proven experience in a Senior Planner or Planning Manager role within civil engineering or infrastructure
* Strong working knowledge of planning software such as Primavera P6 (or equivalent)
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to programme risk management
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Experience working across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
* A relevant qualification in engineering, construction, or project management (desirable)
* Experience working within NEC contract environments is highly advantageous
Salary/Benefits:
* £80,000 - £90,000 per annum
