Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacist role based in Chelmsford. The Pharmacist will dispense and check prescriptions, ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. The role includes providing medication counseling, answering patient questions, and offering guidance on proper use, side effects, and interactions. The Pharmacist will collaborate with prescribers and other healthcare professionals to resolve medication-related issues and optimize patient therapy. Daily responsibilities also include managing controlled drugs in line with regulations, overseeing stock levels, supporting pharmacy technicians and assistants, and maintaining accurate records and documentation. The Pharmacist will help uphold company policies, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and support a positive, patient-centered culture.
Qualifications
- Licensed Pharmacist (or eligibility for licensure) with a recognized pharmacy degree and strong knowledge of pharmacy law, ethics, and best practices.
- Proven ability to dispense and verify prescriptions accurately, manage controlled substances responsibly, and maintain detailed, compliant records.
- Strong patient-facing skills, including clear verbal and written communication, empathetic counseling, and the ability to explain complex information simply.
- Experience collaborating with healthcare professionals to resolve clinical queries, review medications, and support safe, effective treatment plans.
- Comfort with pharmacy software, electronic prescribing systems, and basic digital tools to manage workflow and documentation efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize in a busy community pharmacy setting.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with clinical guidelines, medicines information, and regulatory updates.
