How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Preparing and managing subcontract packages, tender assessments, contract awards, and final account negotiations.
Maximising project cash flow through the preparation and submission of accurate valuations, applications, and invoices.
Monitoring project costs, resources, and financial performance to achieve or exceed commercial targets.
Identifying, managing, and mitigating commercial risks whilst capitalising on opportunities to improve project outcomes.
Administering change control processes and ensuring robust commercial governance.
Ensuring compliance with NEC contracts and maintaining accurate commercial records.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
Supporting and mentoring junior commercial team members to aid their professional development.
Contributing towards sustainability initiatives and supporting project carbon reduction objectives.
    What You'll Need to Succeed

To be considered for this Senior Quantity Surveyor position, you will ideally have:

Proven experience in a Senior Quantity Surveying or Quantity Surveying role within the construction or infrastructure sector.
Experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
Strong infrastructure project experience, ideally within utilities, energy, civil engineering, or related sectors.
Excellent working knowledge of NEC contracts.
Strong understanding of procurement, commercial management, cost reporting, and forecasting.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Experience mentoring or leading junior members of a commercial team.
