The successful candidate will be primarily involved in the supervision of remediation and earthworks projects, acting as a full-time Resident Engineer where required.
My client is a successful consultancy operation across the North of England and they are looking to strengthen their team due to the business moving in a positive direction.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years relevant experience and could be working towards chartered status.You will also need a geo-environmental/geo-technical degree and and strong IT skills.
A typical day in the role will include the following:
• Supervision of remediation, earthworks and/or mine stabilisation projects
• In-situ geotechnical testing (primarily plate load & CBR tests)
• Geotechnical analysis (bearing capacity, slope stability, working platform design etc)
• Inspection of gas protection measures, particularly for new residential developments
• Soil cover validation & stockpile sampling
• Collection of surface water samples, including use of field monitoring equipment
• Scheduling & interpretation of geotechnical & chemical laboratory testing
• Report writing & reviewing (Geo-environmental Appraisals, Remediation Strategies & Verification Reports)
