How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Field Service Engineer

    £40,000 - £45,000 + Door to Door Pay + Overtime (OTE £55,000+) + International Travel + Specialist Training + Company Benefits

    Based near Ipswich, Suffolk (Commutable from: Stowmarket, Woodbridge, Felixstowe, Colchester, Bury St Edmunds, Hadleigh and surrounding areas)

    Are you a Multi-Skilled Engineer with Mechanical, Electrical and PLC experience looking for a highly varied role offering worldwide travel, excellent earning potential and specialist training on bespoke machinery?

    On offer is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established manufacturer where you'll work on niche, technically interesting equipment, travelling across the UK and internationally to install, commission, service and support customers worldwide.

    This company are a specialist manufacturer of converting and slitting machinery, supplying industry-leading equipment to customers across the globe. With over 40 years of success and a strong reputation within their market, they continue to grow and invest in their engineering team.

    In this role, you'll split your time between the company's Ipswich facility and customer sites across the UK and overseas. You will be responsible for machine installation, commissioning, servicing, fault finding and customer training. Full product training will be provided on their specialist equipment.

    This role would suit a Multi-Skilled Engineer with PLC knowledge looking for a technically interesting position with international travel and excellent overtime opportunities.

    The Role:

    Installation, commissioning and servicing of specialist machinery
    Customer training and technical support
    UK and international travel to customer sites
    Split between workshop and field-based work
    The Person:

    Mechanical and Electrical experience
    PLC fault-finding knowledge
    Background in manufacturing, maintenance, service or industrial machinery
    Happy with UK and international travel
