How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    This is not a high-volume multi-drop role.

    Staffline is currently seeking dedicated and reliable Van Drivers to join our team in Doncaster.
    As a van driver, you will have the opportunity to work through our agency, representing a highly reputable retail company.

    The role primarily involves store deliveries, not home deliveries, providing a consistent workload throughout the year. Both full-time and part-time positions are available, and weekend working is essential. We offer paid induction training to ensure your success in the role.

    The pay rates for the role of van driver are as follows:

    - Days 06:00 to 22:00 - £13.35 per hour
    - Nights 22:00 to 06:00 - £16.02 per hour
    - Overtime Days after 40 hours - £20.03 per hour
    - Overtime Nights after 40hours - £24.04 per hour
    - Bank Holiday Days - £26.70 per hour
    - Bank Holiday Nights - £32.04 per hour

    We are delighted to offer shifts with start times between 6am and 10am. Ideal candidate would be flexible to work weekends. We can accommodate rotas working Sundays with Saturday as one of your rest days, working Saturdays with Sunday as one of your rest days or working both weekend days with rest days mid week. The more flexible you are, the more work there is.

    Work is available over 7 days, however, we require a driver to work either a Saturday or a Sunday

    Your Time at Work
    As a Van driver, the work will involve store deliveries, customer collections, replenishment runs and home deliveries throughout the UK. You will be rewarded with excellent pay and working conditions, as well as offering flexible working options and ad hoc odd shifts to suit. You will be required to work between South Elmsall and Redhouse, Doncaster.

    You will be fully competent in driving vehicles to the highest of standards, providing a first-class service to all customers whilst working within the company's procedures and guidelines, to ensure the smooth flow of the operation and that customer expectations are met. This assignment is short-term to cover sales periods, there may be further opportunities available. Manual Handling is involved but each item will be no more than 15kg.

    If you are successful in your interview stage, you will be required to complete a site assessment, which will involve:

    - Theory Test
    - Hazard Perception Test
    - Vehicle Checks
    - Vehicle Manoeuvre (usually a reverse onto the bay)
    - You may be required to do a drug & alcohol test

    Our Perfect Worker
    As a van driver, you will ideally have:

    - Car licence for more than 1 year (Cat B)
    - No more than 6 points
    - Proven experience as a van driver, preferably in store deliveries. (desirable, not essential)
    - Good knowledge of the Doncaster area and its surrounding regions.
    - Excellent driving record and understanding of road traffic regulations.
    - Strong attention to detail and ability to handle goods with care.
    - Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    - Flexibility to work weekends is an essential requirement.
    - Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time.
