A leading international law firm is seeking a talented Business Development Specialist to support its Global Finance and Restructuring practices in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded BD professional to play a key role in driving client growth, supporting high-profile deals, and contributing to strategic initiatives within a fast-paced, globally integrated team.
The Role
Working closely with the Business Development Manager and wider BD and marketing teams, you will play a central role in delivering business development initiatives across core finance practices, including private credit, leveraged finance, capital markets, structured credit, and restructuring.
You will support the full BD lifecycle – from market intelligence and pitch execution to client engagement and profile-raising activities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Growth
- Support initiatives to strengthen client relationships and drive revenue growth
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute business development plans
- Help identify new opportunities and support relationship-building efforts
Market Intelligence & Research
- Maintain deal tracking systems and client coverage tools
- Conduct market, client, and competitor research to inform strategy
- Support CRM data management and reporting
Pitches & Marketing Materials
- Coordinate and produce high-quality client-facing materials, including proposals and presentations
- Manage RFP and pitch processes, including research, drafting, and follow-up
- Support submissions for legal directories, awards, and league tables
Events & Profile Raising
- Assist in the planning and execution of client events, conferences, and sponsorships
- Coordinate logistics, communications, and attendee tracking
- Support thought leadership and brand-building initiatives
Collaboration & Project Management
- Work closely with BD, marketing, communications, and legal teams globally
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
- Maintain organised processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
About You
- Experience in business development or marketing within a professional services environment (law firm experience preferred)
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised, analytical, and detail-oriented
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems is advantageous
- Collaborative mindset with a proactive and positive approach
