How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    173-Bed Private Apartment Development

    Role Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Non-Working Mechanical Supervisor to oversee and coordinate all mechanical subcontract trades on a large-scale private apartment development comprising 173 beds/apartments.

    This is a fully site-based role responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination, quality control, and progress management of all mechanical installations. The successful candidate will ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme and specification requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Supervise and coordinate all mechanical subcontractors on site

    * Manage installation activities across multiple mechanical disciplines including:

    * Pipefitting

    * HVAC / ductwork

    * Sprinkler systems

    * Smoke vent systems

    * BMS (Building Management Systems)

    * Public health services

    * Mechanical plant installations

    * Ensure works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements

    * Conduct daily site inspections and monitor quality of installations

    * Coordinate with main contractor, site management, consultants, and other trades

    * Monitor subcontractor manpower levels and productivity

    * Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations and site procedures

    * Assist with commissioning, testing, snagging, and handover processes

    * Maintain accurate site records and progress updates

    * Attend site meetings and contribute to programme coordination

    Requirements

    * Proven experience in a Mechanical Supervisor role on large residential or commercial construction projects

    * Strong knowledge of mechanical building services installations

    * Experience managing multiple subcontract mechanical packages simultaneously

    * Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications

    * Strong organisational and communication skills

    * SSSTS or SMSTS preferred

    * Relevant mechanical trade background or technical qualification advantageous
