How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    £27,143 - £36,510 per annum

Are you currently working in a Service Desk or IT Support role and ready for your next challenge?

This is your opportunity to move into a hands-on Field Engineer position, where you’ll combine your technical knowledge with on-site problem-solving and real impact across multiple locations.

Join a supportive team where you’ll develop your skills, work independently, and play a key role in keeping essential IT services running smoothly.

    What you’ll be doing

As a Field Engineer, you’ll provide both remote and on-site IT support, ensuring colleagues and customers stay connected and productive.

    You’ll:

    * Deliver on-site technical support, including hardware installation, maintenance, and decommissioning

    * Support and maintain networks, Wi-Fi, connectivity, and end-user devices

    * Work with customer-facing technologies such as CCTV, access control, and assistive tech

    * Liaise with third-party suppliers to resolve faults and coordinate site visits

    * Provide updates and excellent service to end users

    * Support the wider Service Desk team when needed

    What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone with Service Desk or IT Support experience who is ready to take the next step.

    You’ll have:

    * Experience working in an IT Service Desk or technical support environment

    * Strong knowledge of Windows devices and modern IT systems

    * Hands-on experience in hardware installs and field-based support

    * Familiarity with ticketing/call logging systems

    * Understanding of networks, cabling, Wi-Fi, and connectivity

    * Excellent communication and customer service skills

    * Confidence working independently on-site and managing your workload

    What’s in it for you

    * Varied, hands-on work across multiple sites

    * Monday to Friday working

    * Opportunity to build technical expertise in networks, infrastructure, and field services

    * Supportive team environment with ongoing development

What else you need to know

    * You’ll need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

    * This is a partially agile role with travel across sites

If you’re ready to move beyond the Service Desk and build a career in field engineering, this role gives you the platform to grow, develop, and make a real difference.
