How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Wake Night Support Worker – Children’s Residential Care 🌟
Fixed Term Contracts – Minimum 3 Months | Potential to Extend or Become Permanent
    📍 Children’s Solo Annex Setting
    🕒 Wake Nights
    💷 Competitive Pay Rates
    💼 Full-Time Opportunities Available
Do you want to make a genuine difference while being part of a nurturing, child-focused team?
We are looking for compassionate, energetic and reliable Wake Night Support Workers to join our team supporting a 7-year-old child with complex needs within a specialist solo children’s annex setting.
This is not your typical “sleepy” wake night role — we are looking for individuals who are proactive, caring and motivated to create a safe, organised and positive environment ready for each new day.
You will always work alongside another experienced member of staff and become part of a dedicated team focused on consistency, care and positive outcomes.
    💙 The Role
As a Wake Night Support Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the child’s safety, wellbeing and comfort throughout the night.
    Your responsibilities will include:
✨ Providing attentive overnight support within the annex setting
✨ Maintaining a calm, safe and nurturing environment
✨ Supporting routines and responding to individual needs
✨ Preparing and organising for the following day
✨ Planning activities and creating engaging ideas for daytime support
✨ Ensuring the annex remains clean, organised and “sparkly” for the child
✨ Accurate record keeping and handovers
✨ Working collaboratively alongside another member of staff at all times
✨ Promoting safeguarding, structure and positive experiences
    🌈 What We’re Looking For
We are seeking individuals who are:
✔ Passionate about supporting children and young people
✔ Calm, patient and emotionally resilient
✔ Proactive and able to stay motivated throughout wake nights
✔ Organised and able to maintain high standards within the home
✔ Confident working within a team environment
✔ Experienced within children’s residential care, support work or complex needs support (preferred but not essential depending on transferable skills)
    ⭐ What We Offer
💫 Fixed term contracts with potential for extension or permanent opportunities
💫 Supportive management and experienced team environment
💫 Meaningful work where you can genuinely make a difference
💫 Ongoing training and development opportunities
    💫 Consistent shifts and stability
💫 The opportunity to be part of a child-centred and therapeutic environment
    🛡 Safer Recruitment Commitment
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All roles are subject to safer recruitment processes, including enhanced DBS checks and Schedule 2 compliance in line with Children’s Home Regulations.
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
