How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Civil Engineer - Lead Pre-Planning Drainage Projects

    As a Senior Civil Engineer specialising in drainage, you will play a key role in project delivery, working on a diverse portfolio of developments while taking the lead on technical drainage design and client engagement.
     
    About the Opportunity
    My client is a well-established engineering consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to strengthen their drainage team and support the delivery of complex development projects.
     
    The successful Senior Civil Engineer will have the opportunity to lead projects, work closely with clients and stakeholders, and contribute to the successful delivery of drainage schemes across a variety of sectors.
     
    What You Will Be Doing
    As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for:
    ·Leading pre-planning drainage strategies and designs for development projects.
    ·Managing and delivering drainage schemes from inception through to completion.
    ·Producing drainage assessments, calculations, and technical reports.
    ·Using Flow software to undertake hydraulic modelling and drainage design.
    ·Developing sustainable drainage solutions in line with industry standards and local authority requirements.
    ·Liaising with clients, planning authorities, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
    ·Providing technical guidance and leadership to project teams.
    ·Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
     
    What My Client Is Looking For
    To be considered for this Senior Civil Engineer position, you should have:
    ·Experience working as a Civil Engineer with a strong drainage design background.
    ·Proven experience delivering pre-planning drainage solutions.
    ·Proficiency in Flow software.
    ·Experience leading projects and delivering schemes independently.
    ·Strong understanding of drainage design principles, SuDS, and relevant industry standards.
    ·Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    ·The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
