How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Commercial / Contracts Engineer – Contract – London
    Location: London
    This is an excellent opportunity to join a world leading cleantech, renewable and alternative energy
    company involved in the development of novel green energy solutions on a global scale. The role is working client side and is outside IR35.
    Role & Responsibilities
    * Responsible for managing the full lifecycle of major EPC and PMC contracts – including the tendering, negotiation, award, post-award administration, and close-out.
    * Responsible for negotiation and commercial management of all contracts relating to the engineering programme both during the design and construction phases (EPC).
    * Prepare and issue RFPs/RFQs, oversee clarifications, conduct bid evaluations, and lead both technical and commercial assessments.
    * Lead contract and commercial negotiations with contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
    * Implementation of contractual agreements with suppliers and partners to protect commercial interest of the company.
    * Managing contracts entered into with EPC contractors, technology licensors and other engineering suppliers.
    * Manage awarded contracts in accordance with their terms and conditions throughout project execution.
    * Administer variations, change orders, claims, time extensions, and ensure appropriate approvals are in place.
    * Monitor contractor performance against contractual obligations, milestones, deliverables, and quality standards.
    * Manage resolution of disputes or claims in coordination with legal, commercial, and project teams.
    * Management of the contractual relationship with suppliers, technology companies and engineering partners.
    * Support contract-related cost control, forecasting, and budget management activities.
    Key Skills, Knowledge & Education
    * Must have relevant experience in contract management in the energy sector, especially during the EPC phase.
    * Knowledge of major contract types, IChemE, FIDIC, NEC
    * Must have experience of license agreements with technology licensors.
    * Experience in major energy projects during EPC stage – experience in large clean energy projects a distinct advantage.
    * Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Law or Engineering, though experience over qualifications will also be considered.
    This role is deemed to be outside IR35

    £600.00 - £700.00 per day
