How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Site Manager  National Grid (DNO) Substation Projects

    Job Title: Site Manager – National Grid Distribution Framework (Former Western Power) 

    Location: Midlands & South West (West Midlands, Nottingham, Derby, Birmingham, Stoke, Milton Keynes, Bristol area and surrounding) Contract Type: Contractor (12 months initial) – Immediate starts available 

    About the Role We are urgently recruiting experienced Site Managers to join our delivery teams on the National Grid Distribution Framework. You will manage high-profile substation projects ranging from 132kV down to 11kV across the Midlands and South regions. This is a hands-on site leadership role on live DNO infrastructure projects.

    Key Requirements (Non-Negotiable):

    Ops 1B authorisation (minimum) – Ops 2B strongly preferred.
    SMSTS (Site Managers Safety Training Scheme).
    First Aid at Work qualification.
    Proven experience managing substation projects in a DNO environment (Western Power / National Grid Distribution experience highly advantageous).
    Strong electrical or civils background.
    Demonstrable experience supervising teams, managing safety documents, and delivering substation works.Ideal Candidate Profile: You will have significant experience working on operational substation environments. Candidates with only battery storage or greenfield experience will not be suitable. We need individuals who understand the strict safety and authorisation protocols of DNO networks.

    Responsibilities:

    Full site management of substation projects.
    Management of safety documentation and authorisations.
    Leadership and supervision of fitters, wiremen, and subcontractors.
    Ensuring compliance with National Grid / DNO standards and procedures.
    Delivery of projects safely, on time, and to the required quality.What We Offer:
