How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Maintenance Engineer

    £50,000 | Panama Days (6am–6pm) | Food Manufacturing

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and highly respected food manufacturing business operating at significant scale within the UK market.

    The Role

    Working on a Panama Days shift pattern (6am–6pm), you will play a key role in ensuring site equipment and production lines operate safely and efficiently while supporting ongoing engineering and improvement activity.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown support

    * Electrical and mechanical fault finding across production equipment

    * Supporting equipment reliability and minimising downtime

    * Continuous improvement and engineering project involvement

    * Root cause analysis and problem solving

    * Ensuring engineering activities are completed safely and to site standards

    * Working closely with production and operational teams to maximise performance

    About You

    We are keen to speak with engineers who have experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or automated production environments.

    You will ideally have:

    * Multi-skilled engineering experience (electrical or mechanical bias considered)

    * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability

    * Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance

    * A proactive and team-focused approach

    * Engineering qualifications (NVQ / City & Guilds / Apprenticeship or equivalent)

    * Experience working within fast-paced manufacturing environments
