We have an amazing opportunity for someone to work within the Asset Strategy Team in our Network Integrity department as an Asset Risk and Strategy Analyst. You support NGN's investment decision-making and quantify the value impact of NGN’s strategic investment programme.
We’re looking for a self-starter who can pick up and develop new concepts quickly, whilst working as part of an agile and supportive team. Previous experience in an analytical role would be an advantage; however, we will work with the right candidate to provide the training and support to ensure you are equipped with the skills to be successful in this role. Your key responsibilities will include:
Supporting the configuration and maintenance of NGN's Asset Investment Planning decision support tool through maintenance of the software code (C#), following quality assurance processes
Leading the annual reporting of NGN performance against the Network Asset Risk Metric (NARM) and supporting the business in monitoring of NGN’s performance against it
Ensuring alignment of our asset level strategies to NGN’s strategic business objectives and managing risk and service outputs over multiple time periods (5 - 25 years)
Optimising investment plans on 0 – 10-year timescales using NGN's Asset Investment Planning decision support tool and carrying out analysis/providing analytical support to the Asset Strategy, Investment Planning and RIIO-GD3 Business planning teams
Working with multi-disciplined teams, including statisticians, economists, and engineers and attending internal and external meetings as required
What we are looking for:
Ideally, degree educated in an analytical subject or have relevant industry experience
Possess strong critical thinking, analytical and numeracy skills
Experience in using coding languages such as Python, R, and C#. The role involves the maintenance and improvement of NGN’s Decision Support Tool code (currently C#)
An aptitude to learn and develop new concepts and skills quickly
Can effectively communicate challenging concepts with a range of stakeholders
