How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Overview

    Reginald Gray continues to partner with a key client on an exciting opportunity newly brought to market. A well-established, Oxfordshire-based contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join their Special Works division at an exciting period of growth.

    The Role

    This is a genuinely varied project management position overseeing a portfolio of special works projects ranging in value from £50,000 to £2m, spanning both new build and refurbishment. With approximately 90% of project activity concentrated across Oxfordshire, you will be close to your work without being tied to a single site.

    Each project benefits from a dedicated working foreman or supervisor managing day to day site activities, allowing you to operate at a higher level — focused on programme, commercial awareness, subcontractor management, and client relationships across multiple schemes simultaneously.

    Reporting into the Head of Construction, this is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of your portfolio, shape how you manage your workload, and make a real impact within a business that has the infrastructure and reputation to support you.

    What We Are Looking For

    * Proven experience as a Project Manager within a main contracting environment

    * Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously across new build and refurbishment

    * Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage programmes effectively

    * A collaborative approach with the ability to work autonomously

    * Based in or within commutable distance of Oxfordshire
