The Opportunity

Join our leading client as a Gas Quality Engineer and become part of a team that ensures industrial, medical and specialty gases are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards across the UK and beyond.
As a Gas Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and verifying the quality of gas measurement systems for our clients customers. Your work will take you on-site across the UK, offshore and occasionally internationally, where no two days are the same.
Your key responsibilities include:
Conducting performance evaluations of gas chromatographs in line with ISO 10723 and ISO 17020-accredited inspections
Calibrating and validating gas quality instrumentation at customer sites, ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations
Collecting, analysing and interpreting data to produce high-quality technical reports, providing clear insights and confidence to customers
Preparing reference gas mixtures for on-site use, including safe transfer and verification of contents according to accredited procedures
Collaborating with Sales, Logistics and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery
Maintaining records and using our clients documentation systems in line with quality and technical processes
Managing and supporting on audits where appropriate, including customer audits too
What Makes You a Standout Candidate:
We’re looking for someone with a “can-do” attitude who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys solving problems on the fly. You don’t need a degree but if you have one, it will go a long way. What we are particularly looking for is someone with the right mindset and practical skills to get the job done.
Key traits include:
Strong academic foundation with good GCSEs and/or A-levels in ideally Mathematics and Science (full technical training provided)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and colleagues
Confident, independent and collaborative – able to manage multiple priorities and tasks
Highly organised with attention to detail, particularly for planning site visits and reporting
Flexible and willing to travel extensively, including overnight stays offshore or abroad
A full UK driving licence and comfort with being on the road for periods of the day
