How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Installation Engineer (Pumps / Plant Equipment)

    Company van + expenses | £38,500 | Permanent

    We’re looking for a mechanically biased Installation & Maintenance Engineer to join a growing business with an excellent reputation. You’ll play a key role installing and maintaining large pumping and plant equipment, supporting customers on-site and keeping machinery running safely and efficiently.

    This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, fault finding, and variety - with the backing of a supportive team and the tools you need to do the job properly.

    The Role

    You’ll be working on customer sites (typically across the Midlands) carrying out installation, servicing and breakdown support on plant equipment including pumps, valves, hoses and associated systems.

    Please note: due to client requirements, you may occasionally be required to stay away from home overnight. Suitable accommodation will be arranged, and all expenses will be covered.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Installing and maintaining plant machinery and pumping equipment

    * Attending breakdowns, carrying out repairs and getting equipment back online

    * Fault finding and diagnosis

    * Completing safety documentation and ensuring compliance on-site

    * Maintaining your tools, van stock and equipment

    * Ensuring lifting equipment is tested and in date

    * Producing clear job reports and paperwork

    What We’re Looking For

    * Time-served Mechanical Engineer / Technician (or equivalent experience)

    * Strong mechanical fault-finding ability

    * Good communication skills and customer-facing confidence

    * Able to work independently, manage your workload and meet deadlines

    * Positive, team-player attitude with high standards of workmanship
