How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Support Worker – Family Assessment Centre

    📍 Location: Cambridge
    💷 £12.50 - £14.00 per hour
    🕒 Full-Time | Day & Night Shifts Available

    Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable families and helping create safe, positive outcomes for children?

    We are recruiting experienced Support Workers to join a Family Assessment Centre supporting parents and children in a residential setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a specialist environment focused on safeguarding, parenting support and child development.

    The Role

    You will support families within a residential assessment environment, helping to promote safety, structure and positive parenting. You will work closely with parents, children and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of care, safeguarding and support are maintained at all times.

    Duties Include

    *

    Supporting families within a residential setting

    *

    Observing and recording parent-child interactions

    *

    Promoting safeguarding and child welfare

    *

    Assisting with routines, appointments and daily living

    *

    Providing emotional and practical support to parents

    *

    Writing clear and accurate daily reports

    *

    Working alongside social workers and external professionals

    *

    Managing challenging situations calmly and professionally

    Essential Requirements

    *

    Minimum 1 year experience working with children

    *

    Experience within residential care, family assessment, children’s services, support work or safeguarding environments

    *

    Strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries

    *

    Confident report writing and communication skills

    *

    Ability to work shifts, including weekends if required

    Desirable

    *

    NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care / Children & Young People

    *

    Experience within family assessment or mother & baby settings

    *

    PMVA / MAPA training

    *

    Driving licence
