How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Quality Assurance Technologist
Leominster (Home of Tyrrells Potato Crisps)
    On-site | Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 17:00

    Join our snack-loving team
We’re looking for a QA Technologist to join us at KP Snacks. If you’re ready to bring your ideas to the table, grow your skills and be part of a team that values what makes you, you – this could be your next big move.

    About the role

The QA Technologist will play a key part in protecting food safety and product quality. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, you’ll support day‑to‑day quality activities, help us meet the highest industry standards and use our IWS tools to drive continuous improvement.

This is a hands‑on role, ideal for a graduate with a Food Science or related degree, or someone early in their Food Science career, who is keen to build a career in Technical. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the site, spending time in our manufacturing areas to understand our processes and help raise quality standards. You’ll also partner with suppliers, support customer‑focused improvements and contribute to our audit and compliance activities.

It’s a great opportunity to learn, grow and make a real impact in a fast‑paced environment.

    What’s in it for you?
We believe in rewarding our colleagues and helping them thrive. Here’s a flavour of what we offer:

Comprehensive healthcare support – including Medicash Health Cash Plan, Digital GP, Best Doctors second opinion service and specialist cancer care

KP Pension Plan – contribution matching up to 7% of your salary

25 days holiday, plus the option to buy more

KP4ME – our online platform for benefits, discounts, wellbeing tools and more

    What will you be doing?

Driving food safety and quality standards
Coaching colleagues on the shop floor and challenging standards to meet the KP Quality Management System

    Leading and supporting sensory activities
Running panels, analysing trends, managing quality attribute documents and using insights to influence improvement

    Managing quality documentation and procedures
Owning or supporting JQPs, Production packs and technical records, ensuring accuracy and compliance

Supporting audits, risk management and improvement plans
Playing an active role in internal audits, allergen management, acrylamide monitoring and complaint reduction

Supporting site teams to improve quality standards
Sharing knowledge, building capability and helping colleagues prevent and eliminate quality risks

    Who are we?
We’re KP Snacks, part of the Intersnack family. Across more than 30 countries, over 15,000 of us work together to make the snacks people love – from Hula Hoops to McCoy’s. In the UK, we’re a team of around 2,400 colleagues, based across seven sites and our Slough HQ. We’re proud of our close-knit culture, where we speak up, celebrate differences and push boundaries together.

    We’re committed to inclusion
We’re building a workplace where everyone belongs. If you don’t tick every box, we’d still love to hear from you – your unique perspective could be just what we need. And if there’s anything we can do to make the process easier for you, just let us know.

We’d love to hear from you if you can bring:

A degree in Food Science or a related subject
With understanding of food safety, HACCP and good manufacturing practices

    Strong communication and influencing skills
Able to build relationships and coach colleagues at all levels

    Excellent attention to detail
Using data to interpret trends and make sound decisions

    A proactive and motivated approach
With the ability to prioritise, work at pace and drive improvement

Confidence with IT systems and tools
Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel and site databases
