How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: £29,744 – £30,576

    Looking for a Career That Truly Makes a Difference?

    A welcoming and supportive children’s residential home in South East England is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Residential Support Worker to join its dedicated team.

    This is a hands-on and rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, helping them feel safe, valued and supported every day.

    No two days are ever the same — from helping with daily routines and activities to celebrating achievements and building positive relationships, this role is all about making a lasting impact.

    The Role

    The Residential Support Worker will play an important part in creating a caring, safe and homely environment where young people can grow, develop and thrive.

    Daily responsibilities will include:

    * Supporting young people with daily routines, life skills and personal care where required.

    * Organising fun recreational and leisure activities both inside and outside the home.

    * Supporting attendance at education settings and providing transport when needed.

    * Acting as a keyworker for individual young people, helping to support care plans and reviews.

    * Building positive and trusting relationships with young people, families and professionals.

    * Maintaining accurate records and handover notes.

    * Administering medication when trained and authorised.

    * Supporting a positive home environment through cooking, household tasks and health & safety checks.

    * Working in line with safeguarding procedures, policies and legislation at all times.

    What They’re Looking For

    The ideal candidate will be:

    * Caring, resilient and positive.

    * Calm under pressure with a consistent approach.

    * A strong communicator and listener.

    * Able to work independently as well as part of a close-knit team.

    * Passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their potential.

    Essential Requirements

    * Full UK Driving Licence.

    * Level 3 qualification in a relevant field, or willingness to work towards one.

    * Ability to prioritise workload and use initiative effectively.

    Desirable Experience

    * Previous experience working with children or young people with emotional or behavioural difficulties.

    * Experience managing challenging behaviour.

    * Good written and IT skills.

    * Flexibility around shift patterns.
